How Many Gods Could A Forest God Forage If A Forest God Could Forage Gods
Naire sighed, finally letting himself take a break when he found himself only getting more and more lost. This forest was nothing like the ones back home, and it seemed endlessly deep. He had come across the sea from the naga lands after it had been declared there was new land and people waiting to be discovered. He was not the first to come over, but his kind were still a new site to see around.
Upon coming from the sea and moving inland, Naire had decided to cross the forest to get to the other side, as he had been gifted by a forest god from his homeland. However, the forest was nothing like the forests of his home, and he had quickly found himself hopelessly lost. Luckily enough for him, he had dried meat and a full water sack packed away among a thick journal and different herbs.

Karrus watched from the trees; not on the branches, but actually inside of them, hushing a tittering nymph who shared his hiding spot. He stepped from one tree to another, always out of sight of the naga but completely intrigued. He'd seen the snake-like people before, but never on this side of his territory. Once assured that the naga wasn't a threat, just lost, he made himself known, stepping in front of the man. "Hello, there! You seem to be turned around. Perhaps I can be of assistance?"

Naire startled at first, not having thought anyone else was out there. He smiled a little, though, glad at least for a local. "Thank the gods, I've been completely lost for hours." He said, slithering over to Karrus. "I thought coming through the forest would be easy enough for me, as I am well traveled in the forests of my homeland, but here it is much different."

Karrus fell in step beside Naire with a smile. "Yes, these forests are tricky to navigate, mostly because they seem smaller on the outside than they actually are. Most people set up camp a night or two because getting to the other side in a day is near impossible. But the wildlife is friendly and not apt to cause harm."

"It is much larger than I anticipated." Naire said with a bit of a nod. "I'm glad the wildlife is friendly enough, then. I prefer to avoid causing harm to the local wildlife unless needed."

"I would more watch out for the nymphs; they enjoy playing pranks on those passing through. Harmless pranks, but I doubt you want to wake up by getting a bowl of water dumped on you," Karrus laughed, pulling some branches aside so Naire wouldn't run into them.

Naire couldn't help but laugh lightly. "Well, at least that is something that is the same." He chuckled, thanking Karrus as he held branches back. "Though the nymphs back home would more likely put berries in your hair while you slept instead of dumping water."

"Mm... No, those would be the pixies," Karrus laughed, showing Naire the poppy flowers and daisies braided into his hair. "Much more calmer here than most places. I think the humid climate makes them less likely to play pranks."

"The water in the air weighs them down and makes them more tired around here, so they're fairly lazy creatures," Karrus explained, helping Naire over stray roots and vegetation. "Careful, now. You might want to set up a camp soon; it'll get dark in an hour or so."
