Pirate Twins AU

Luis grinned as he leaned over the side of his ship, watching his sisters flag billow in the wind, a backwards version of his own; two skulls facing away from each other, and below them, instead of the usual bones, were a pistol and dagger crossed. On her flag, the skulls and weapons were red on a black background, and his were blue, the telltale signs of the infamous pirate twins. "Hola, hermana! Is this the place?" He called across the distance to their ships, close enough to be heard if shouting.

"Si!" His sister yelled back. "Drop the nets!" She shouted to her crew, Luis's following the order despite the man having not given it himself. They knew that if one captain ordered something, everyone was expected to follow.

Luis watched the nets plummet into the ocean, each one holding some type of shiny, elegant thing; her's an ax once wielded by a king, his with golden necklaces and earrings, gems scattered about them.

"It's been far too long since I've felt the warmth of the sun." Aerowyn said with a grin as he and his brother swam for the shallows. "I hope I can find things to bring home."

"I'm sure you will, you always do." Valdemar chuckled. "I am going ahead to search out Ulric while you look for things to hoard." He chuckled before swimming off ahead of Aerowyn.

Aerowyn grinned, spinning in the water before swimming in the opposite direction of his brother. He scanned the shallows for something that looked interesting, when he spotted gems and flashes of golden jewelry. With a grin he swam down towards them and started to try and pluck them from the sand.

Valdemar, along his way, was distracted by metal glinting in the reflections of the sun through the water. He frowned, attempting to ignore it at first before giving in to his curiosity. "What's this?" He murmured to himself as he ran his hands over the metal before trying to detangle the ax from the netting.

"Hoist!" Luis shouted, Maria repeating the order, the nets suddenly closing over both of the underwater creatures, slowly being pulled up bit by bit.

Luis bounced on his heels, gasping when he saw what his men had lifted out of the water, the creature suspended in air. "Dios mio," he breathed, seeing his sister pull something similar out of the ocean, but pitch black instead of stark white. "Que eres...?" He stepped up to the railing of his ship, now only five feet from the creature's face, staring at it curiously through the netting.

Aerowyn let out a screech when the net closed around him, thrashing as he was pulled out of the water. He growled and bared sharp needle fangs at Luis, a clear inner eyelid sliding over his eyes to protect from the air. His stark white tentacles roiled around him, sliding through the holes in the netting and trying to find a way to escaped.

Valdemar snarled and struggled against the netting as he was hoisted out of the water. The movement jostled the ax, which cut harshly along Valdemar's ribcage, leaving dark red blood running down the ax and his body.

"Ciro," Luis said, watching the creature. "Have you ever seen anything like that before?" He asked his cousin, who had walked up after seeing Aerowyn lifted out of the water.

Ciro shook his head, eyes trained on the monster. "No. But Luis, I don't think this is a good idea. They're so... human looking."

"They're not human, they're fish. So its fine."

Maria raised an eyebrow at the creature, watching the blood drip down the netting. "Ah, mierda. Tio!" She shouted, though Santiago was already hurrying her way, stepping close to the captured man. "Careful, Tio. If he hurts you, I'd have to kill him, and I'd rather keep him alive," Maria warned, though Santiago shot her a look.

"I said from the beginning this was a bad idea," he muttered, glancing at the crew. "Cut him loose. I can't get to his wound when he's trapped like that!"

"Don't cut him loose!" Maria ordered, the men about to do it stepping back from the ropes. "You stitch him tied up or he bleeds out. I'm not risking that creature attacking my crew."

Aerowyn watched them, teeth still bared as he gripped the net with his hands. "Let me go." He growled, tugging at the net before trying to bite it, to see if he could cut it with his teeth.

Valdemar growled as they came close, prepared to attack as soon as they cut him loose. When Maria told them not to, he turned his eyes to her and glared harshly, his clear eyelids slowly closing to protect his eyes.

Luis startled, taking a step back, then frowning. "So they can talk. That's... unexpected."

"Primo, I love you, but for the sake of all of us, release him," Ciro said, though Luis shook his head. "This is no better than slavery! I thought you were against such things."

"He's only half man, so its only sort of slavery. Slavery is black, non slavery is white, and this is that little grey area in between those two."

"Interesting," Maria muttered, Santiago frowned as Valdemar was heaved onto the ship and dropped in a heap on the deck, though luckily the ax didn't cut him again.

"Careful!" Santiago shouted, kneeling by Valdemar's side, wearily eyeing the tentacles as his medical bag was brought to him. "Please don't fight me," he murmured, holding out his hands. "Can you speak?"

Aerowyn growled angrily when the netting didn't tear from his teeth, clawing at the net and glaring at Luis and his crew. "Let me go or I will tear you apart." He threatened, though he couldn't do so if he couldn't escape. "Limb from limb."

Valdemar growled in warning at Santiago when he drew closer, eyeing him up and down. It was a long moment before he said anything. "...Yes." He growled. "Now let me go, and make them let my brother go." He demanded.

"I am shaking," Luis said, deadpan as he watched Aerowyn. "Boys, take him to the tank. I think he'll fetch a pretty penny, don't you?"

"Aye!" A few men cheered, starting to lower Aerowyn onto the deck, grabbing the netting but steering clear of his tentacles.

"If he struggles, just knock him unconscious," Luis added.

Santiago looked up at his niece, who only stared dispassionately down at Valdemar, and he shook his head. "I can't, lo siento. But I need to stitch your wound before you bleed out," he said, opening his bag to get his tools ready.

Aerowyn growled and tried to go for some of the hands that grabbed the netting, but every time he would try for someone's hands they would let go before he could do anything.

Valdemar growled and bared his needle like teeth at them a moment before slowly lowering himself in the netting so Santiago could stitch him up. He couldn't let himself bleed out and die while their other ship had his little brother.
