Welcoming Dragons

Kai grimaced as he set the last box in their knew living room, stretching out his back and arms. "That's the last of it!" He called to the others, glad to at least be done with getting the boxes and furniture into the house. Unpacking though, that was another task to tackle. "We should take a break, I'm exhausted." He huffed, collapsing on one of the couches.

Adrian was grinning as he walked with Reid to their new neighbors house. "Think they're actually dragons?" He asked, looking at his best friend. "Mrs. Priscilla wouldn't shut up about dragons moving into the neighborhood yesterday, kept going on and on about her younger days before the dragon wars."

Re: Welcoming Dragons

Drac wiped some sweat from his brow, knocking into Kai purposefully. "We're still not even close to done. Vas and Nil are already setting up their room," he said, wincing when he heard a crash come from down the hall. "Olivia said she was going to order some pizzas for dinner, so we didn't have to unpack the kitchen right away."

Reid shrugged as Kian bounced excitedly behind them, both of the brothers holding plates of homemade lasagna and cookies in the shape of bat wings, their mother insisting that it was the closest thing she could get to a dragon. Reid just hoped that it wouldn't be seen as offensive. "That's what I've heard. They're supposed to be starting the term at our university, or at least a few of them? It looked like there's a lot of them moving in," he added, knocking on the door.

"At least we don't have to do that yet." Kai said, groaning when there was a knock at the door. "I'm not ready to meet the neighbors..." He sighed, but pushed himself up from where he was sitting. He blew his hair from his face as he walked to the door, stretching his arms over his head before opening the front door. "Uh, hi." He said, mentally berating himself as he looked at Reid, Adrian, and Kian.

"Hi there! We wanted to be the first to welcome you guys to the neighborhood, so we brought over some lasagna and cookies as a welcome gift!" Adrian said happily. "I'm Adrian, and this is Reid and Kian. We live just a couple houses down."

Drac looked over the three humans in interest, and out of the corner of his eye he could see his brothers peering around from the hallway, twin blue gazes staring at the first actual humans they'd ever seen.

Kian leaned around Reid to give them a short wave, and Nil perked up and dragged Vas with him to the door. "Im Nil! These are my brothers, Vas and Drac, that's Kai, and that's Sylvia, our handler."

"Its nice to meet you all," Reid greeted, passing the food to Nil, who looked delighted.

"If you guys need any help getting to know the neighborhood or the city, we'd be glad to help you out." Adrian said happily, unable to keep himself from looking curiously at the dragons. He couldn't help but wonder what they would look like as full dragons.

"That's... actually not a bad idea." Kai said, glancing at Drac. "We know where the grocery stores and that !@#$ is, but other than that we don't know what's good and not."

"You're also attending the University here, right?" Reid asked. "Word kinda gets around. We could show you around there, too; the layout can get a bit confusing."

Vas and Nil nodded in unison, and Drac couldnt help but feel a bit excited at the prospect. At least they weren't having issues making friends. "That would be so helpful, thanks. Which house do you live in?"

Kian pointed down the street, two doors down. "Its just the three of us, so if you ever need anything, feel free to stop by!"

"Also, ignore Mrs. Priscilla if she says anything to you. She's a crazy old elf who does not speak for the neighborhood when she spouts things." Adrian explained. "Luckily, she's further down the way and not right next door."

"Let me guess, she's one of the ones who hate dragons, right?" Kai asked, raising a brow as he snagged a cookie and had a proper look at it.

"Yeaaaah, but she kind of hates everyone that isn't some kind of 'good' creature, as she likes to put it. Humans are on very thin ice with that woman."

"That doesn't mean she won't beat down your self-esteem until you want to die, so I suggest everyone avoid her like the plague. Other than that, most everyone in the neighborhood are college students, so they're pretty cool."

"Oh, uh, I hope you guys aren't allergic to peanut butter," Kian tagged in. "I wasn't sure if dragons can have food allergies."

"As far as I know known of us are." Kai said, taking a bite of the cookie before sighing happily. "This is good, thanks for 'em." He said before grabbing the lasagnas. "I'll go put these away. Come in if you want, it's a mess of boxes fair warning though." He said as he walked in, not looking behind to see if they would or not.

"Oh, no, we couldn't impose on you guys like that." Adrian said, holding his hands up in front of him. "I can imagine you guys have a lot of settling in to be doing."

Next Day

Adrian hummed to himself as he walked up to the Dragon's door just before noon, pausing only a moment before knocking. He hoped he wasn't being too forward in wanting to show them around.

Kai was in the middle of unpacking the kitchen when he heard the knock. "Hey Drac! Will you get the door? Might be more neighbors," He called to the other dragon.
